Maddam Ink has hard Driving Riffs, Big Catchy Hooks, and Impassioned Live Shows, are only the tip of the iceberg in an attempt to describe the wildly popular East Greenville, Pennsylvania based alternative rock outfit Maddam Ink. The band formed in 2004 by lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter Adam Burke, is making considerable ground in their quest to the top.
While the act sights influences from a variety of classic and hard rock bands including Led Zeppelin, Chevelle, Stained, and Stone Temple Pilots there is one fact that remains; their sound is a one of a kind, a totally unique and original project; modern rock at its’ indefinable best. Their radio friendly songs span many styles and can easily share a spin list with the likes of Breaking Benjamin, Incubus, Three Days Grace, Halestorm, Sick Puppies and Crossfade, just to name a few.
While Burke is the group’s undisputed leader and front man, he is joined in the band by three seasoned musicians, lead guitarist and back vocalist Kevin Rausch, bassist and back vocalist Steve Benecke, and Kyle Young on drums. The trio provides the killer rhythm section driving Burkes’ powerful, red hot vocals.
While the major majority of the songwriting is done by rhythm guitarist Adam Burke, the band’s lead guitarist Kevin Rausch has been known to devise a few clever catchy riffs of his own, which have turned into full songs and become part of the bands repertoire. “The songs I write”, states Burke, “are done primarily on the acoustic guitar. I used to play it all the time and I’m very comfortable with it in the songwriting process.
Since the inception of the band, they have performed many high profile venue gigs, concerts, and festivals. In 2007 they shared the stage and an audience of 50,000 fans, with Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, and Shadows Fall, on the “Heaven and Hell Tour / LocoFest at The Tweeter Center in Manchester, NH. The band, no stranger to the big stage, has also supported many other national acts such as Fuel, Nonpoint, Alien Ant Farm, Eve 6, Days of the New, Cold, Black Stone Cherry, Cavo, Evens Blue, Thin Lizzy, Pop Evil, Crossfade and many others.
In 2006 the band recorded and independently released their self-titled debut full length CD. The record did relatively well on a local basis. “I’m pretty sure the album would have done much better on a regional and national basis”, stated band leader Adam Burke, “if we had actually hired the right people to market and promote it. But it was only the first of many more to come and we were happy with the outcome”. The record release party was a huge success with a turnout of over 800 fans at the Crocodile Rock venue in Allentown, PA. “That’s still a record for turn-out at that venue for relatively unknown independent artists to my knowledge” said Burke.
In 2010 Maddam Ink released their sophomore full length aptly titled “Inklination ” produced by Grammy™ nominated engineer/producer David Ivory (Halestorm /Atlantic Records, SilverTide / Sony/ BMG, and The Roots), and exhibits their best work to date. Mindful of the need for professional marketing and promotion for “Inklination”, and leaving no stone unturned this time around, the band engaged Philadelphia based Allure Media Entertainment Group, Inc,.
Maddam Ink’s fan base and market reach continues to explode on a daily basis. This dynamic band differs from most independent bands in that they definitely do not intend to become the consummate Flash-in-the-Pan. With insurmountable determination and solid backing they are set to blow up big in 2012 and beyond. You really need to keep your eyes and ears open for this hard-hitting rock outfit.

Side-by-side with greats such as Phil Woods, she is also featured on Christmas in Rhythm & Bossa, her new favorite Christmas CD.Working with Bossa Nova co-inventor Roberto Menescal, and Raymundo Bittencourt at Albatroz Records in Brazil, she enjoys being one of the American voices of the new Brazilian Music Movement. Alana Marie contributes with her work to charitable events as well. She is a co-founder of “Rock for UCP" a program that has brought funds and hope to those affected by Cerebral Palsy. D-Train is a 24 year old musical artist, who was born in Brooklyn, NY but spent most of his childhood in East Stroudsburg, PA. He moved to PA at a very young age where he felt as though he was an outcast within the schools, along with the town because of the fact that he was the only minority. Thankfully, though he felt like an outcast to the town, he was treated like family to his neighbors; therefore, they played a major role in his life, growing up made things hard but his neighbor made things bearable. At this stage in his life, D-Train discovered his talent and love for poetry along with his name throughout middle school.
As he graduated from middle school, enrolling into high school, things were completely different as well as the neighborhood. More minorities moved in town therefore making bigger shoes to be filled, but yet D-Train had no intentions of filling those shoes. At that point in his life he was working on his lyrics but practicing on combining poetry with Hip Hop but without a beat, also known as accapella. In the meantime he dealt with small time dealings along with several obstacles which threw him off track for 3 years, one day he happen to hit one obstacle head on; that’s when all of his love and interest in poetry came to an halt. From that day forth D-Train knew he had to make a change in his life and that change was the United States Army.
Returning from the Army’s basic training, D-Train decided to take advantage of the benefits the Army has to offer and enroll in college. 2 years after the enrollment of college and making several very close friends; this has helped him rekindle his love for poetry only this time adding a beat to flow with. His friends played a major role in the new beginning of D-Train’s return, so from 2009 to 2010 he has remained dormant….. until now.

Drew Whelan is a Singer/Songwriter/Producer Who Plays Guitar, Bass and Keys. Born in 1985 in Great Meadows, New Jersey.
He's influenced by the new and the old, from big sonic rock guitar to cutting edge dance beats, textured synths interwoven with fat bass lines that can shake the ground on which we stand...
Drew discovered his parents’ record collection, at a very young age - Led Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, Yes, and Joni Mitchell were played very often as he was growing up! But in that collection he indulged in so many forms of sound, from the blues, jazz, rock, folk, just to name a few. He would spend hours going through them, taking in the cover art, the concept, imagining what could possibly be in the heart of the record once he laid the needle on the first track...More often than not he was wildly surprised! It was quite an escape for him, like traveling to another dimension and he could go there any time he wanted. He would just hit play and off he'd go into another world!
Growing up, Drew was not the most astute student in school. He only seemed to care about the things that interested him and his brothers... the things that seemed to shimmer and pop. "I think I was a professional day dreamer and bubble gum chewer in those days" - Drew Whelan - He could’t wait to get home to let his imagination soar, playing li’l diddies that he layed down onto tape which tended to be given as gifts to friends and girls I was interested in at the time. It was my way of being a part of the collective...which brings him to his first real introduction to a live instrument. Involved in the school band, heed vividly remember making (THE) choice over what instrument reflected his personality! He was all about the saxaphone! He loved the sound, tone and range. He don‘t think it was really a big stretch crossing over to the stratocaster eventually.
A little bit later he came to discover the magic of electric guitar while at a friend’s house and his Mother’s acoustic guitar that his Father had gifted her. Since that moment he was enthralled and got his first electric guitar as a birthday present. He passionately dug in for long hours that seemed to slip away without second thought. All through high school he devoted all of his free time to the art of recording.
Over the years, Drew retained that same love and devotion to his craft, studying at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California for a brief time, honing the technical...and straight shootin’ from the hip! All of which has allowed him to pull from a very wide range of interests and influences, leading him into different territories musically. Drew is constantly evolving with the tides and changes of style and culture! He believes there is something to appeal to all age groups in his music as those barriers seem to be slipping away.
His sound has been related to the likes of Bono from U2, Bruno Mars, John Mayer, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, The Gorillaz and Mark Ronson...Projects + Collaborations (to include and exceed)
Drew has played with such people as: Alex Orbison, Navarone Garabaldi, Zak Ambrose, Mike Burns, Swayze, Duane Betts, John Donovan and Olivia Newton John’s Daughter Chloe
